Reengineering a Broker Dealer’s Trading Platform
A large global financial firm was facing several issues with their current “Order Management Systems (OMS)” and “Direct Market Access (DMA)” platforms. The firm was utilizing several in-house and vendor applications to manage and execute the orders and was unable to leverage their technology infrastructure effectively. The firm’s Senior Management mandated the Trading Group to increase the revenues and decrease the operational costs significantly within a three-year period.
Our team assessed the current trading floor environment – including trading flows across trading desks (Proprietary, Agency desks), multiple geographical locations, and disparate trading applications. This analysis was completed in a 8 weeks and recommendations & roadmap presented to Senior Management.
Our findings and recommendations enabled the firm’s Senior Management to make a decision to increase investment and upgrade their current trading platforms. A new trading platform was selected to support their Trading business.
